The Nikkitas family has farmed in Sparta for five generations. Their olive groves and beehives sit among the ruins of ancient Sparta, at the foot of Mount Taygetus, along the Eurotas River, near the tomb of King Leonidas and the UNESCO site of Mystras.
This collection brings together their two flagship products: the award-winning extra virgin olive oil and raw pine honey.
The olive oil is a blend of three endemic varieties (Koroneiki, Athinolia, and Koutsourolia), hand-picked and cold-pressed on-site within 24 hours. 700mg polyphenols per kilogram.
The honey is raw, unheated, and unpasteurised. Pine honeydew honey, collected by nomadic beekeepers who move their hives across the Peloponnese following seasonal blooms.
Both products are stamped directly onto glass (no labels) and fully recyclable.
Olive oil: Mildly peppery, golden-green, full texture, long finish. Smoothness from Koroneiki, fruitiness from Koutsourolia, peppery intensity from the rare Athinolia.
Pine honey: Dark beige, thick, mineral and resinous, less sweet than blossom honey, persistent enveloping finish.
